Douglas Kirkland, Hollywood’s favorite photographer, marks 60 years in the business with new book and exhibition
Legendary Canadian photographer Douglas Kirkland is set to launch his latest retrospective exhibition, showcasing some of his iconic shots of Hollywood stars throughout his decades-long career.
“Douglas Kirkland: Beyond the Lens” will run from April 26 to May 10 at the Mouche Gallery in Beverly Hills, California, USA. The exhibition will feature shots from his collection of books that bring together some of his best work as one of the famed photographers capturing Hollywood’s A-listers.
The photographer from Fort Erie, Ontario is known for being one of Hollywood’s favorite photographers. He has captured portraits of Marilyn Monroe, John Lennon, Michael Jackson, Brigitte Bardot, Nicole Kidman, and many others. He worked through the golden age of photojournalism, and has had his work exhibited all over the world.
To mark his 60 years in the business, Kirkland is also releasing an expanded edition of his best-selling photo collection. “Freeze Frame: Second Cut” features new text and more than 190 new photographs, giving a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Hollywood magic.
